Terms Used In Texas Government Code 418.131

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

In this subchapter:
(1) “Center” means the Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center at Texas A&M University.
(2) “Local government” means a county, municipality, or council of government that has jurisdiction in a first tier coastal county, as defined by § 2210.003, Insurance Code.
(3) “Plan” means a local housing recovery plan developed under § 418.133.
