In consultation with law enforcement personnel, the secretary shall have the power and duty to investigate the conviction record and the protection proceeding record information under chapter 43.43 RCW of each prospective employee of a state hospital.

Terms Used In Washington Code 72.23.035
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Employee: means an employee as defined in RCW 49. See Washington Code 72.23.010
- Secretary: means the secretary of social and health services. See Washington Code 72.23.010
- State hospital: means any hospital, including a child study and treatment center, operated and maintained by the state of Washington for the care of the mentally ill. See Washington Code 72.23.010
