Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 24.02

  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • Donor: The person who makes a gift.
  • State: when applied to states of the United States, includes the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the several territories organized by Congress. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01

Addition to any class of lands specified in s. 24.01, except lands purchased for forest reserve and Marathon County lands, may be effected by grant, conveyance or devise made as a donation to the state for the purpose of the fund to which such class belongs. But no such proffered donation shall be accepted until the title of the donor has been examined and approved by the attorney general.
