Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 24.23

  • Land: includes lands, tenements and hereditaments and all rights thereto and interests therein. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • State: when applied to states of the United States, includes the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the several territories organized by Congress. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01

The title and fee of all public lands shall remain in the state until patents for the land are issued. No patent shall be issued except upon full payment of the purchase money and interest and all taxes returned and lawful charges on the lands being purchased.
