  • Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • Power of attorney: A written instrument which authorizes one person to act as another's agent or attorney. The power of attorney may be for a definite, specific act, or it may be general in nature. The terms of the written power of attorney may specify when it will expire. If not, the power of attorney usually expires when the person granting it dies. Source: OCC

Executing a power of attorney for health care under ch. 155 may not be used to impair in any manner the procurement of a life insurance policy or to modify the terms of an existing life insurance policy. A life insurance policy may not be impaired or invalidated in any manner by the exercise of a health care decision by a health care agent on behalf of a person whose life is insured under the policy and who has authorized the health care agent under ch. 155.
