Richard J. Suzuki, is the founding attorney of Suzuki Law Offices, holds licenses to practice law across various jurisdictions. He is authorized to practice in the state of Arizona, the US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, and the United States District Courts of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Southern District of Illinois, Eastern District of Michigan, and Western District of Washington. Additionally, he has represented clients in the Federal District Court of Utah, Southern District of California, Middle District of Florida and District of Montana.
Before establishing his own law firm, Mr. Suzuki began his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Howard Fell of the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County, following his graduation from the University of Arizona College of Law. He then served as a criminal prosecutor at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where he specialized in investigating and litigating felony cases as part of the Major Crimes Gang and Repeat Offender Program Bureau. During his tenure, he handled numerous felony jury trials and gained valuable experience.
Transitioning from public service, Mr. Suzuki assumed the role of Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona. In this capacity, he managed federal felony cases across Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona, and conducted several Federal jury trials. This diverse experience equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of criminal law, which he now applies to his criminal defense practice.
A respected member of the legal community, Mr. Suzuki is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the State Bar of Arizona and the Maricopa County Bar Foundation, where he served as a Trustee. He is also a member of prominent associations such as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The National Top 100 Trial Lawyers, Million Dollar Advocates Forum, SW Super Lawyers, Top Valley Lawyers, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Los Abogados, and the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association.
