Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 32:27-11

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
A quorum of the commission for the purpose of transacting business at any commission meeting shall exist only when there are present, in person, at least 5 members or alternates from each of the party States including at least 2 or 3 State officials or appointees or their alternates from each State. No action of the commission shall be effective or binding unless a majority of each party State’s representatives who are present at such meeting, including at least 2 of the 3 State’s officials or appointees or their alternates, shall vote in favor thereof. Certified copies of the minutes of each commission meeting shall be sent to each of the Governors of the party States within 20 days of said meeting.
