Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 45:8-35.18

  • board: as used in this chapter shall mean the State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. See New Jersey Statutes 45:8-28
  • land surveyor: as used in this chapter shall mean a person who is a professional specialist in the technique of measuring land, educated in the principles of mathematics, the related physical and applied sciences, and the relevant requirements of law, all requisite to the practice of land surveying as attested by his license as a land surveyor. See New Jersey Statutes 45:8-28
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 8. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 1 of P.L.1993, c.39 (C. 45:8-35.2) and section 1 of this act, the board shall require each person licensed as both a professional engineer and a land surveyor, as a condition for biennial certification, to complete not less than 36 credits of continuing professional competency relating to the practice of professional engineering and land surveying, with not less than 12 credits to be completed in professional engineering and not less than 12 credits to be completed in land surveying.
