Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 54:29A-28

  • taxing district: when used in a law relating to the assessment or collection of taxes, assessments or water rates or water rents, include every political division of the State, less than a county, whose inhabitants, governing body or officers have the power to levy taxes, assessments or rates. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
The commissioner shall certify the amount of the assessments to the Comptroller, in detail, and shall divide them into taxing districts so that the amount assessed for each year in each taxing district shall appear. The same remedies shall exist for the collection of these taxes as exist for the collection of taxes regularly assessed under this act.
