- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- peace officer: means
(A) an officer of the state troopers. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060 - person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- Probable cause: A reasonable ground for belief that the offender violated a specific law.
A peace officer may arrest a person without a warrant, whether or not the offense is committed in the presence of the officer, when the officer has probable cause to believe that the person to be arrested has committed the crime of operating a motor vehicle, an aircraft, or a watercraft in violation of Alaska Stat. § 28.35.030 or a similar city or borough ordinance, if the violation is alleged to have occurred less than eight hours before the time of arrest.
