  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

If any provision, subsection, part of the subsection, or clause of Alaska Stat. § 15.30.150 – 15.30.190 shall be held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be void, invalid, or unconstitutional for any reason, the remaining provisions of Alaska Stat. § 15.30.150 – 15.30.190 shall not be affected, and to this end the provisions of Alaska Stat. § 15.30.150 – 15.30.190 are severable.
