  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • Petty offense: A federal misdemeanor punishable by six months or less in prison. Source: U.S. Courts
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Whoever violates any provision of this Act shall be guilty of a petty offense and shall be fined a sum not less than $100. Any fine imposed shall be in addition to any other action that may be taken under this Act. Each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. The State‘s Attorney of the County in which the violation occurred, or the Attorney General shall bring such actions in the name of the People of the State of Illinois, or may, in addition to other remedies provided in this Act, bring action for an injunction to restrain such violation.
