  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
     At the election, the proposed amendment and explanation shall be printed on the top of the “Official Ballot” preceding all nominations of any political party upon a single ballot in accordance with the provisions of § 16-6 of the Election Code.
