Sec. 18. The salary of a chief clerk appointed under section 17 of this chapter shall be:
(2) paid as provided in Ind. Code § 3-5-3-1.
(1) fixed in the manner prescribed by Ind. Code § 36-2-5 or Ind. Code § 36-3-6; and
