As used in this subchapter, unless the context otherwise requires:
 1. “Children’s behavioral health services” means the same as defined in section 225C.2.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 225C.55

  • children: means a person or persons under eighteen years of age. See Iowa Code 225C.2
  • Commission: means the mental health and disability services commission. See Iowa Code 225C.2
  • Director: means the director of health and human services. See Iowa Code 225C.2
  • Disability services: means services and other support available to a person with mental illness, an intellectual disability or other developmental disability, or brain injury. See Iowa Code 225C.2
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • State board: means the children's behavioral health system state board created in section 225C. See Iowa Code 225C.2
  • United States: includes all the states. See Iowa Code 4.1
  • year: means twelve consecutive months. See Iowa Code 4.1
 2. “Department” means the department of health and human services.
 3. “Director” means the director of health and human services.
 4. “Disability services” means the same as defined in section 225C.2.
 5. “Population” means, as of July 1 of the fiscal year preceding the fiscal year in which the population figure is applied, the population shown by the latest preceding certified federal census or the latest applicable population estimate issued by the United States census bureau, whichever is most recent.
 6. “Regional administrator” means the administrative office, organization, or entity formed by agreement of the counties participating in a region to function on behalf of those counties in accordance with this subchapter.
 7. “Serious emotional disturbance” means the same as defined in section 225C.2.
 8. “State board” means the children‘s system state board created in section 225C.51.
 9. “State commission” means the mental health and disability services commission created in section 225C.5.
