Terms Used In Iowa Code 341A.15
- Commission: means the civil service commission or a combined county civil service commission created pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. See Iowa Code 341A.1
- County: means a single county or several counties combined for the purposes enumerated in section 341A. See Iowa Code 341A.1
- Person: means an individual, firm, partnership, domestic or foreign corporation, company, association or joint stock association, trust, or other legal entity, and includes a trustee, receiver, assignee, or similar representative thereof, but does not include a governmental body. See Iowa Code 362.2
Leave of absence, without pay, may be granted by any county sheriff to any person under civil service. The sheriff shall give notice of leave to the commission.
