Terms Used In Iowa Code 536A.27

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
536A.27 Penalty.
If any officer, director, or agent of any corporation engaged in the business of operating an industrial loan company shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter which are not also violations of the Iowa consumer credit code, chapter 537; or if any person individually or as a partner, or officer, director, or agent of any corporation shall engage in the business of operating an industrial loan company without obtaining the license required by section
536A.3, when that person is not required by § 537.2301 to have a license, the person shall be guilty of a serious misdemeanor. Violations of the Iowa consumer credit code, chapter
