  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
626.5 Expiration of lost writ — effect.
When the lost execution shall have expired by limitation and such affidavit is filed, an execution may issue as it might if such lost execution had been duly returned.
