  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
665.6 Affidavit necessary.
Unless the contempt is committed in the immediate view and presence of the court, or
comes officially to its knowledge, an affidavit showing the nature of the transaction is necessary as a basis for further action in the premises.
