Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 10-1119

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Governing body: means the governing body of a municipality. See Kansas Statutes 10-1101
  • Municipality: means any county, township, city, municipal university, school district, community college, drainage district and any other taxing district or political subdivision of the state which is supported with tax funds. See Kansas Statutes 10-1101
  • Person: means any person, partnership, association or corporation. See Kansas Statutes 10-1101

Any contract entered into between the governing body of any municipality and any person, which violates the provisions of this act, shall be void, and any order, warrant, check or other evidence of indebtedness drawn on the treasurer of any municipality in violation of the provisions of this act shall be void.
