  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Undertaking: means a promise or security in any form where required by law. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

If a majority of the votes cast at any election held pursuant to Kan. Stat. Ann. § 10-204 favor the proposition submitted and the issuing of bonds, the officers of such county, city or township, shall take sealed proposals for the building or repair of the bridge for a period of not more than 30 days ending at a date and time specified by the officers.

Proposals for the building or repair of any such bridge shall be accompanied by complete plans and specifications; the price to be charged, in cash; and a bond or undertaking, with good and sufficient security in double the amount of the proposed cost, conditioned on the faithful execution of the work proposed, and the performance of any contract made in reference thereto.
