Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 19-2953

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Any violation of any provision of this act shall be deemed to be a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of not to exceed $200 for each offense and each day’s violation shall constitute a separate offense, and the governing body shall have the authority to maintain suits or actions in any court of competent jurisdiction to enforce the regulations adopted in accordance with the terms of this act, and to abate nuisances maintained in violation thereof.
