  • Lawsuit: A legal action started by a plaintiff against a defendant based on a complaint that the defendant failed to perform a legal duty, resulting in harm to the plaintiff.

The provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60-262, and amendments thereto, shall apply to judgments entered under the code of civil procedure for limited actions, except as to judgments entered in eviction lawsuits under sections Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 61-3801 through 61-3808, and amendments thereto. A judgment entered in an eviction lawsuit may be enforced as soon as it is entered.
