  • Charity: An agency, institution, or organization in existence and operating for the benefit of an indefinite number of persons and conducted for educational, religious, scientific, medical, or other beneficent purposes.

A correct copy of the sheriff’s fee bill, as provided by La. Rev. Stat. 33:15061, shall be posted in the office of the civil sheriff, in a conspicuous place, under penalty of twenty-five dollars per day in case of failure so to do, to be recovered before the civil district court or any one of the city courts of New Orleans, in favor of the charity hospital of New Orleans.
