Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2508

  • Applicant: means an individual who has made application to the board for the issuance or reinstatement of any license, reciprocity request, or any other designation deemed necessary to become a nursing home administrator that the board is authorized by law to issue. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2501
  • Board: means the Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2501
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Nursing facility administrator: means any individual who is or may be charged with the general administration of a nursing facility and who has been licensed and registered by the board in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2501

The board may endorse a nursing facility administrator license issued by any other state, upon payment of the new applicant fee, and upon submission of evidence satisfactory to the board that:

(1)  Such other state maintained a system and standard of qualifications and examinations for a nursing facility administrator license which were substantially equivalent to those required in this state at the time such other license was issued by such other state.  

(2)  The individual applicant has passed the Louisiana State Standards Examination.
