  • Ex officio: Literally, by virtue of one's office.

The state treasurer shall attend meetings of all state boards, agencies, retirement system boards, or other public bodies of which he is a member, whether ex officio or otherwise.  However, the state treasurer is hereby authorized to designate the deputy state treasurer or any assistant state treasurer, as defined in Louisiana La. Rev. Stat. 36:765 through La. Rev. Stat. 36:768, or any senior staff member of the treasurer’s office to represent the state treasurer at any such meeting, in which case any action taken or vote made by such representative shall carry the full force and effect as if made by the state treasurer.
