Terms Used In Michigan Laws 554.652

  • Campground: means that term as defined in section 12501 of the public health code, Act No. See Michigan Laws 554.651
  • Occupant: means a person who occupies a site in a campground. See Michigan Laws 554.651
  • Operator: means a person who owns or operates a campground, and includes the employees and agents of the person who owns or operates the campground. See Michigan Laws 554.651
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
   The operator of a campground may remove or cause to be removed from the campground, in the manner provided in this section, any occupant of the campground or guest of an occupant or other individual who, while on the premises of the campground, disturbs the peace and comfort of other occupants, who causes physical harm to the campground facilities, or who fails to pay rent at the rental rate agreed upon by the time agreed upon. However, admission to, or removal from, any campground shall not be based upon a person‘s religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, or marital status as prohibited under the Elliott-Larsen civil rights act, Act No. 453 of the Public Acts of 1976, being section 37.2101 to 37.2804 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
