I. A person shall not use a life settlement contract form or provide to a viator a disclosure statement form in this state unless first filed with and approved by the commissioner.
II. The commissioner shall disapprove a life settlement contract form or disclosure statement form if, in the commissioner’s opinion, the life settlement contract or provisions contained therein fail to meet the requirements of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 408-D:9, N.H. Rev. Stat. § 408-D:11, N.H. Rev. Stat. § 408-D:14 and N.H. Rev. Stat. § 408-D:15, II, or are unreasonable, contrary to the interests of the public, or otherwise misleading or unfair to the viator. At the commissioner’s discretion, the commissioner may require the submission of advertising material.

  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
