Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 10:5-26

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Any person who shall willfully resist, prevent, impede or interfere with the Attorney General or any representative of the division in the performance of duty under this act, or shall willfully violate an order of the Attorney General, or the director, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by imprisonment for not more than one year, or by a fine of not more than $500.00, or by both; but procedure for the review of the order shall not be deemed to be such willful conduct.
