Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 39:3-10.23

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. a. The director may take such steps as are necessary to provide for the efficient, timely and orderly processing of persons required to obtain commercial driver licenses under this act. The director may require persons to take the skills test for the commercial driver license or for an endorsement at the time and place selected by the director. The director may require those persons who fail to satisfactorily complete a knowledge test for the commercial driver license or an endorsement on the initial attempt to take those knowledge tests for a second or subsequent time at a time and place selected by the director.

b. If the director determines that persons required to obtain commercial driver licenses and endorsements by April 1, 1992 are not voluntarily and in a timely manner scheduling with the division a date, time and location for the taking of the knowledge tests or are failing to appear as scheduled, the director may for the timely processing of all such persons require each person to appear for the initial taking of the knowledge tests on a date and at a time and location selected by the director.
