Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 39:3-26.1

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 1. Any self-propelled vehicle or vehicles which are used or intended to be used solely upon the private property of one person, and which would otherwise be required to be registered under this title in order to operate upon a public highway, may be allowed, subject to the provisions of this act, to cross a public highway for the purpose of gaining access from one portion of private property to another, without the necessity of complying with the registration requirements of this title, upon issuance of a crossing permit by the chief administrator and subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of the permit.

Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent or prohibit the registration of any self-propelled sprayer pursuant to the provisions of section 6 of P.L.2015, c.292 (C. 39:3-24.5).
