Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 39:3-85.4

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Should any section or provision of this act be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, same shall not affect the validity of the act as a whole or any part thereof other than the portion so held to be invalid.
