Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 39:5-36.1

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 31. The Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles shall collect a $25 fee from a person who issues or passes to the division a check, or similar sight order for the payment of money, which is not honored by the drawee. This fee shall be in addition to all other fees owed by the person to the division. The amount sought to be satisfied by such dishonored check, or similar sight order for the payment of money, shall not be deemed paid until such amount and the fee required under this section are paid. This section shall be applicable to any check or similar sight order for the payment of money, made to the division.
