Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 52:4B-38
- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
Nothing contained in this act shall mitigate any right which the victim may have pursuant to the New Jersey Tort Claims Act (N.J.S. 59:1-1 et seq.).
