Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 163-278.37

  • board: means the State Board of Elections with respect to all candidates for State, legislative, and judicial offices and the county board of elections with respect to all candidates for county and municipal offices. See North Carolina General Statutes 163-278.6
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3

The county boards of elections shall preserve all reports and statements filed with them pursuant to this Article for such period of time as directed by the State Board. (1979, c. 500, s. 15; 2017-6, s. 3; 2018-146, s. 3.1(a), (b).)
