- Candidate: means an individual whose name is or is expected to be printed on the official ballot or a write-in candidate. See Oregon Statutes 249.002
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
- Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
