9-8-205. Board duties and powers.
(1) |
The board shall:
Terms Used In Utah Code 9-8-205- Board: means the Board of State History. See Utah Code 9-8-102
- Director: means the director of the Division of State History. See Utah Code 9-8-102
- Division: means the Division of State History. See Utah Code 9-8-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(a) |
with respect to the division:
(i) |
make policies to direct the division director in carrying out the director’s duties; |
(ii) |
approve the division’s rules; |
(iii) |
assist the division in development programs consistent with this chapter; and |
(iv) |
review and approve, if appropriate, matching grants under Subsection 9-8-203(3)(c)(ii); and |

(b) |
with respect to the State Historic Preservation Office created in Section 9-8-902:
(i) |
make policies to direct the state historic preservation officer in carrying out the officer’s duties; and |
(ii) |
assist the office in programs consistent with 9. |

(2) |
The board may establish advisory committees to assist the board, the office, and the division in carrying out the responsibilities under this chapter. |
