Terms Used In Texas Water Code 11.560

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

If a watermaster program is established for the entire Colorado River Basin, the Concho River Watermaster Program is discontinued, and the area described by § 11.553 is under the jurisdiction of the watermaster for the Colorado River Basin Watermaster Program.
