- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
663.2 Verification — presentation to court.
The petition must be sworn to by the person confined, or by someone in the confined person’s behalf, and presented to some court or officer authorized to allow the writ.
