- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
Sec. 7. The right of a parent, guardian, or custodian to be present at any hearing concerning the person’s child is waived by the person’s failure to appear after lawful notice.
