(1) Peace officer or law enforcement officer means a sheriff, a jailer, a marshal, a police officer, or an officer of the Nebraska State Patrol.

Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 71-910

  • Peace officer: shall include sheriffs, coroners, jailers, marshals, police officers, state highway patrol officers, members of the National Guard on active service by direction of the Governor during periods of emergency, and all other persons with similar authority to make arrests. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
  • Peace officer or law enforcement officer: includes a member of a tribal police department or federal law enforcement officer duly authorized to assert law enforcement powers by a tribe in the State of Nebraska. See Nebraska Statutes 71-910

(2) Peace officer or law enforcement officer includes a member of a tribal police department or federal law enforcement officer duly authorized to assert law enforcement powers by a tribe in the State of Nebraska.
