- Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
The increase in fees authorized by this chapter shall not affect an increase in the fees authorized in Section restitution; collection and distribution” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2020″ statecd=”AL” title=”12″>12-17-224, or any existing cost, fee, fine, or assessment except those specifically set out in this chapter.
