Nothing in this chapter shall authorize a mastectomy fitter to engage in the practice of medicine; to diagnose, treat, or cure any human disease, illness, ailment, infirmity, pain, or other medical conditions; to perform surgery of any type or description; or to prescribe any drug or medical device.

- MASTECTOMY FITTER: A health care professional who is specifically educated and trained in the provision of breast prostheses and post-mastectomy services, including patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, and follow-up and practice management, which is consistent with nationally recognized programs which are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
