Terms Used In Alabama Code 37-4-14

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Nothing contained in this chapter shall limit the power of any court having jurisdiction to authorize or cause a receiver’s certificate or debentures to be issued according to the rules and practice obtaining in receivership proceedings.
