(a) The board shall be composed of 11 members: One member shall be appointed by the President of Auburn University, one member shall be appointed by the Director of the Alabama Department of Archives and History, one member shall be appointed by the Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, one member shall be appointed by the President of Tuskegee University, one member shall be appointed by the President of Alabama A & M University, and six members shall be appointed by the Governor, to be selected from a list of 20 individuals submitted by the Dothan Landmarks Foundation.(b) Terms of members serving on the initial board shall be: 3 shall serve a two-year term, 3 shall serve a three-year term, and 3 shall serve a four-year term, determined by lot. Thereafter, all shall serve a four-year term, including those members appointed pursuant to Act 2000-672.
