Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 13.16.030
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

- state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
In proceedings within the exclusive jurisdiction of the court where notice is required by Alaska Stat. Chapter 13.06 – Alaska Stat. Chapter 13.36 or by rule, and in proceedings to construe probated wills or determine heirs which proceedings concern estates that have not been and cannot at the time of these proceedings be opened for administration, interested persons may be bound by the orders of the court in respect to property in or subject to the laws of this state by notice in conformity with Alaska Stat. § 13.06.110. An order is binding as to all who are given notice of the proceeding though fewer than all interested persons are notified.
