A trustee, unless expressly authorized by the trust instrument, may not directly or indirectly lease, buy, or sell property for the trust from or to

(1) itself or an affiliate;

  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
