Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 23.10.030

  • action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

A worker induced to accept employment with a person mentioned in Alaska Stat. § 23.10.015 by conduct violating that section has a right of action for damages caused by the false or deceptive representations used to induce the worker to change the worker’s place of employment, against the person directly or indirectly causing the damages. In addition to the actual damages the worker has sustained, the worker may recover the reasonable attorney fees which the court shall fix, to be taxed as costs.
