  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

The legislature finds that since the needs of the state for physical facilities of all kinds are diverse, the planning, design, and procurement of public facilities through lease or construction should be executed in accordance with facility procurement policies developed by the department and reviewed annually by the legislature.
