If an electric utility receives power cost equalization under Alaska Stat. § 42.45.10042.45.150, the utility shall either give to its electric service customers eligible under this program, for each period for which the payment is received,

(1) the following notice:

NOTICE TO CUSTOMER

For the most recent monthly reporting period under the State of Alaska’s power cost equalization program, this utility’s actual fuel efficiency for your community was kilowatt-hours a gallon. The applicable fuel efficiency standard set out in regulations for the power cost equalization program is ________ kilowatt-hours a gallon.

For the current billing period, the utility will be paid under the State of Alaska’s power cost equalization program (Alaska Stat. § 42.45.100) to assist the utility and its customers in reducing the high cost of generation of electric energy.

  • power: includes electrical energy generated, distributed, bought, or sold for lighting, heating, power, and every other useful purpose. See Alaska Statutes 42.45.990
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(2) a notice approved by the authority that provides electric service customers the same information provided by the notice in (1) of this section.
